BEHIND OUR ARMOR PLATES

If you are buying curved steel body armor then it should be perfectly curved. Those sellers who are utilizing a press-brake and are performing 4 or 5 bends are not preserving the integrity of the steel. When using a press-brake to bend the steel it "work hardens" and as a result it will actually harden your the material too much. This, as was mentioned before, is not good and can become brittle.  SEMPER FI ARMOR plate steel is actually pressed in a precisely designed die-set.  A die-set is the only way to achieve an actual true radius bend.  Some sellers utilize a roll-form machine that will make it appear radius like, but upon closer inspection it can be flat along the edges.  When comparing the bending methods, it is ideal to have armor plate steel that has been radius die-set pressed for a true radius comfort curve.
